Our Accreditations

West Midlands Double Glazing windows are covered by a comprehensive 10 year guarantee, with more guarantees available including lifetime guarantees, depending on which window you choose.

What is FENSA and why is this important?

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. With a FENSA registered firm, you can be confident that your installations are fully compliant with Building Regulations, without the added cost of having to arrange an assessment by Building Control.

We are a FENSA registered company

If you are undertaking replacement glazing in your home, you should ensure that you use an installer who is registered with the Government authorised scheme FENSA (Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme).

FENSA was set up by industry bodies with Government encouragement in response to the Building Regulations for England and Wales which came into effect on 1st April 2002. Anyone who installs replacement windows or doors must comply with current Building Regulations and thermal performance standards. When the time comes to sell your property, your purchaser’s solicitors will ask for evidence that any replacement glazing installed since April 2002 complies with the Building Regulations.

To help protect consumers, all FENSA Registered Businesses are required to provide insurance cover for any deposit they take, and are required to ‘offer’ or give’ homeowners access to Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBG) for up to a ten year period, to provide cover in the event that the company ceases to trade.

West Midlands Glazing UK is a GGFI registered company.

Why is being GGFI registered important?

GGFi provides protection for consumers

GGF Insurance (GGFi) works closely with FENSA to provide protection for consumers. Companies registered with GGFi are low risk for consumers because GGFi has strict criteria for joining; this enables GGFi to keep costs low for both glazing companies offering insurance, and for consumers who take up policies through these companies.

The number of companies registered with GGFi is steadily increasingly. Currently, the total number of home improvement companies registered with GGF Insurance totals in excess of 1,500.

GGF Insurance (GGFi) is authorised and regulated by the FCA and is underwritten by Red Sands.

West Midlands Double Glazing products are CE Marked.

What does CE Marked mean?

Our products are CE Marked

You may have noticed the letters ‘CE’ on many products you buy. This is a requirement for some products traded in the single market in the European Economic Area (EEA).

By placing the CE marking on a product a manufacturer is guaranteeing that the product meets EU safety, health or environmental requirements and is compliant with EU legislation.

West Midlands Double Glazing products carry a BRFC energy-rated label.

What does this mean?

Our products carry a BRFC energy-rated label

In the interests of reducing fuel costs and protecting the environment, all homeowners are looking for ways to make our homes more energy efficient. The BFRC Scheme is the UK’s national system for rating the energy efficiency of windows and is recognised within the Building Regulations as a method to show compliance for your replacement windows installation.

Window Energy Ratings use a consumer-friendly traffic-light style A-E ratings guide. This ratings label can be used by you to make more informed choices about the energy efficiency of the windows you are about to buy.

Each West Midlands Double Glazing window comes with a BFRC rating which will tell you good the window is at:

  • Containing and conserving heat within your home
  • Keeping out the wind
  • Resisting condensation
  • Keeping out the noise
